AL RAHMANI GENERAL TRADING COMPANY L.L.C.

Humble beginning: Al Rahmani General Trading Company L.L.C. was established around 90 years ago, in 1917, by the late Haji Yousuf Al Rahmani as a small trading establishment. Over the period of time, , it has grown along with the development of UAE and today is considered as the undisputed leader in the field of building materials and interior decorative items not only in the UAE but also in the entire Arabian Gulf, CIS and African countries.

Progress: Initially the company started with the import and trading of materials for the fabrication of thatched houses and dhows. With the passage of time and discovery of oil in the U.A.E., Al Rahmani contributed to the development of the country and the region by understanding technological developments during that time and the rapidly changing needs of the sector. This helped Al Rahmani to focus on identifying, sourcing and supplying the right kind of items related to construction and building materials, interior decoration, and related activities. Today the group has four showrooms in Dubai, two in Abu Dhabi and one each in Sharjah, Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah and Muscat. Work on the new showroom in Mabella, Sultanate of Oman is in progress and expected to be operational by November 2006. It also has sales offices in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Al Ain, Ras Al Khaimah and Muscat for outdoor sales, project sales, interior decoration and chemicals. Future plans include the opening of new showrooms and sales offices in other emirates and also in the overseas market.

Partner in the development of U.A.E.: The Company’s supplies have covered practically every project in the region from the imposing Trade Centre to the sprawling Dubai Dry Docks, from the stately Rulers Office to even simple apartments thereby contributing in no small measure to the development of the country. Today, the company supplies to most of the major infrastructural and construction projects that are being undertaken in the country.

Product range: Al Rahmani showrooms can be truly classified as the supermarket for building materials, hardware and interior decorative products. With over 15,000 quality items in stock, it meets most of the customer requirements. There is a saying in the local market, “If you are not able to get your required building material or interior decorative products else where, go to Al Rahmani, you will get it there”. The products range from basic items like hardwood, exotic timber, construction timber, steel, cement, roofing material, plywood, MDF and HDF boards, gypsum boards to interior decoration products like doors, door frames, false ceiling systems, floor coverings, wave boards, laminates, partitions, etc. Our product range also covers a wide range of hardware items, tools and accessories, adhesives, sealants, electrical items, paints, plumbing, and sanitary ware.

Quality: Quality is the most important factor at Al Rahmani. Be it the product, sales and service or after sales service the highest emphasis is placed on quality. Over the last 90 years, it is quality that has created the goodwill among our customers. As a result, the Al Rahmani name has become synonymous with genuine product at a reasonable price.

Exports: After firmly establishing its presence in the local market, Al Rahmani set its sights on the targets beyond the borders of the U.A.E. Exports began in the year 1965. Initially attention was paid to neighboring Gulf countries. Today, Al Rahmani can boast of having blossomed exports reaching as far as the USA, Europe, Russia and many CIS countries, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Sudan, Libya, Algeria, Mauritania, Zaire, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Gabon, Madagascar and part of Asia. The firm is considered as a major source of supply to the African countries in addition to GCC countries and Iran.

Manufacturing: Al Rahmani’s plan to enter into manufacturing of products related to building materials and interior decoration took shape in 2003 with the manufacturing of Tile Adhesive and Tile Grout products, under the brand names, “National” and “Pacific”. Al Rahmani is expanding its furniture and interior decoration activity.

Bella Dura: Looking into the vast market the construction sector has opened up with the new ambitious projects in the UAE, the group has introduced high quality paints and wood coatings under the brand name “Bella Dura” during 2004. The wide range of Bella Dura products would cover the requirement of paints and coatings of not only to the construction sector (in the form of wood coatings and emulsion paints) but also to a wide range of other applications like road and pavement markings, marking of airport runways, metals and machinery, furniture, automobiles, and so on.

Chemicals Division: Al Rahmani started a Chemicals division in 2004. This division is engaged in the trading of chemicals all types of industries. The group’s future plan to start manufacturing of chemicals is also in its final stages of planning.
